The Rupanyup Men’s Shed Inc. is an incorporated association based in Rupanyup in Western Victoria.
The Men’s Shed provides a woodworking and hobbies club for all members where they can meet and socialise with other members, exchange ideas, tips and tricks, pass on skills, project plans and generally admire the work of their fellow members and at the same time develop their work on personal or community projects.
The Club consists of members from all walks of life who have developed a wide variety of knowledge and skills in woodworking.
The Club also assists members with access to a range of equipment and maintains a registry of tools and equipment available for use by members for either their own projects or for Club projects such as the making of art & woodcrafts, picture framing, furniture and other useful objects.
This equipment includes drill presses, band saws, scroll saws, clamps, dovetail equipment, mitre and docking saws, planer, belt & sheet sanders etc.
The Club is also working to develop a program to participate in school education days where members will be displaying woodworking skills to students and, as far as possible, answering queries about the skills and fun of working with wood.
All of these activities are carried out by members acting in a voluntary capacity.
Ladies are especially welcome at the club and we have some ladies quite skilled with woodworking tools and routers.
In a nutshell, the Rupanyup & District Woodcraft Club provides opportunities for the exchange of information with peers & mentors of knowledge and skill with woodcrafts.
