In 2009 and again in 2010, at the Rupanyup Education, Activities & Community House a number of proposals were raised at their Committee to formulate a few community health programs, sadly, the collective view of that Committee was that there was a lack of resources to be able to support them.
Now, in 2014, the Rupanyup & District Women’s Health Group has started to investigate the possibility of securing a suitable community venue to run a Calorie Control and Fitness Program.
This program would be to develop and promote a healthy diet and exercise activity group to promote the healthy body image for both Seniors and Young people.
During the program, we would invite other Community Groups, Businesses and Individuals to visit to present a series of activity events that would also include workshops around fashion sense, make-up, self-esteem, health, fitness, food preparation and fun!
Indoor activities using Wii Fit and Wii Sports such as ten pin bowling, tennis, yoga and structured diet and exercise and fitness management.
Much of the program will link in to other Groups and Clubs such as cooking group walking, swimming and social club and research dietary and nutrition advice online and deliver weight management support for our Community Adults and Children.
